Bank Statement to CSV

Turn a statement PDF into transaction rows for QuickBooks/Xero.

🔒 On your devicePro

How to use it

  1. Drop a bank or credit card statement PDF onto the upload area.
  2. Leave Output as Transactions CSV.
  3. Press the run button, then open the CSV — columns are Date, Description, Withdrawal, Deposit, Amount, Balance, Note.
  4. Check the Note column before importing: any row whose running balance doesn't reconcile is flagged there.
  5. Import into QuickBooks or Xero. Dates are normalised to YYYY-MM-DD.

Troubleshooting

"Couldn't detect transaction rows."

Your statement layout isn't recognised. Switch Output to Extracted layout (debug) and download that file — it shows the exact structure and can be used to add support for your bank.

"The table appears to be images, not text."

Some banks draw each transaction row as an image, so there is no text to read. Run the OCR PDF tool on the statement first, then run this tool on the OCR'd file.

Amounts landed in the wrong column.

Values are assigned by their position under the Withdrawal/Deposit/Balance headers. If a column is misread, the Note column usually flags it because the balance stops reconciling.

Only some transactions were found.

Rows continuing onto a second line are merged into the previous transaction. If whole days are missing, use the debug output and send it to support.
